Smart Club Liquidation Sale SCAM

All weekend we have been hearing on the radio and tv commercials of some big liquidation sale that is taking place in the Melbourne Mall where circut city used to be. They claim to have computers for $50 and other electronics at liquidated price. THIS IS A SCAM. I was the first one there and the first one in. First off you have to pay $5 per person to get in. If you spend $50 or more your $5 is refundable. There are no computers for $50 and hardly any electronics for that matter. The only computers and lap tops they have are refurbised and practicly for the same price you can buy a new one on sale at a reputible store. Basically you are paying to get into a flea market full of vendors selling overpriced Copycat Perfumes and merchandise at anything but liquidation prices. Half of the clothes are copycat brands and I wouldn’t trust any “Name Brand” items, computer guarantees or warrantys they claim come with your purchase, due to the fact they will soon be gone. You will find the same merchandise at the Flea Market, Marshalls or on ebay for better prices and you don’t have to pay to get in. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! They have FALSELY ADVERTISED to get you there and then make you pay to get in and there is absolutely no real liquidation prices except for on the jewelry (and altho $50 for a wedding set claiming to be 14k gold with a lifetime warranty sounds like a good deal, I would caution that purchase). What a waste of time and money. WHAT A SCAM & FLASE ADVERTISING

  1. Thanks for posting this opinion. I read it prior to going to the "sale" and we started polling the MANY folks leaving what they thought of the merchandise. None of them had purchases in their arms and this was less than 20 minutes after the "event" opened. Most of them had the same feelings as the poster above, so we left the line just before getting in. At 7 bucks a ticket (NON-REFUNDABLE!!), it was just not worth the risk.

  2. Thanks for posting this! We were going to go to Smart Club Electronics Liquidation Sale WHEELER PAVILION in Eugene OR this weekend. The radio commercial sounded too good to be true, and they want $7 to get in! I'm so glad I read this! What a waste of time and money it could have been!

  3. I been to one of this sale recently and i have found lot of bargains on merchandise compare to regular retail store price. i have went to get a laptop and end up getting a good deal for $149. actually thanks smart club for doing a sale in my town cos i needed a laptop really bad for my school and i could not buy the expensive dell laptop for $500 at walmart so it workout perfect for me to purchase a $150 laptop. and i also end up spending more $300 on lot of other stuff such as clothing, car audio, jewelry, shoes and mp3/digital camera.

I think it depends on individual i saw lot people shopping there it was good turn out and i say lot of people have lots of shopping bag in their hands. So everyone there were happy shopping at this sale.

    1. You said you couldn't afford a $500.00 laptop from Walmart but you spent $450.00 at a liquidation sale?

  4. The "Smart Club" is having a liquidation sale at the Appalachian Fair Grounds in Gray, TN this weekend. I was going to go thinking I could get a computer bargain, but I am not so sure now. They are charging 7 dollars just to get in. Thanks everyone for the heads up. You can't be too careful anymore.

    1. I was thinking of going, too. Then I googled "Smart Club Liquidation" There are tons of complaints about these guys all over the internet. Let's not waste our time. Money it too tight to spend $7 to look at overpriced merchandise. The Flea market is still free!

  5. i looked up the liquidation sale on the website of San Antonio Event Center where the radio commercials are advertising this even to be held this weekend and their website clearly states that "The Liquidation Sale is owned & operated by Smart Club Liquidation NOT The San Antonio Event Center.
Please contact Smart Club Liquidation with any questions regarding showtimes, compliments & complaints." interesting that they separated themselves from any association with SCL.. and i was really looking forward to going.
